Castle Tourist Spot
A dream castle with a fairytale balcony to survey your parishes below, at Chateau of Plessis-Mace you become royalty. You must have a guide to visit the interior of the chateau, but this is an asset because your guide will lead you through daily life in the chateau and the history of its many occupants. A traditional medieval garden, and chapel housing one of the oldest oak platforms, complete the picture of Chateau of Plessis-Mace's notable attractions. However, you shouldn’t overlook the grandeur of the chateau’s exterior, so well-preserved that you can almost see the lords of Plessis walking out the the large, wooden doors for a walk through their beloved gardens.

The castle management is entrusted to the EPCC Anjou Theatre, who performs an entire season of modern and classic theatricals on its grounds. Make Chateau of Plessis-Mace part of your personalized Longuenee-en-Anjou itinerary using our Longuenee-en-Anjou trip itinerary builder.

  • Castle has visit very nice, but too bad there's not more room open to the public. I went there for the weekend end of heritage, old vehicles were visible, tools and tents of eras, with men in uniform, the re-enactment was nice.
