  • VISIT September 2013 is at the gates of Chinon, in Seuilly specifically was born among others, Fr. Rabelais, Gargantua and Pantagruel. The House is simple well maintained. She suck a Museum, there is the life of this great man through rare editions of ancient engravings and portraits. A great man because he was one of the men the most erudite of his century he was monk, doctor, scientist, botanist astronomer and writer. The surrounding landscapes became the natural décor of these novels. Today, it is common to call this region the Rablaisie. The epicentre of his famous war picrocholine is in the Deveniere, la or he was born there is the Museum to see, but also the cellars, the garden and the surrounding vineyards

  • a beautiful location, simple, welcoming where you can feel free to move from one building to another and discover Rabelais beyond the traditional clichés. a gude niys gave the visit, very informative in explaining through the life of Rabelais, the life of this period. a huge favorite for the cellars that should be missed for any pretext.

  • Evoke Rabelais, is to evoke the earthiness but also the tourangelle sweetness. One is not disappointed to discover his natal House nestled in the valleys... in the middle of the vineyards at the end of a path of Hazel. And when you see the caves we understand the essence of his work!
