  • Excellent museum where the background emphasizes the shape (not infested by digital Fireworks too often present in museums who want to be on the page): we learn (among other things) that the exodus has led 65 000 Alsatians to take refuge in Haute-Vienne, Department, which was a land of maquis and where lived 74 righteous. There were also internments camps such as those of St-Germain-les-Belles, Nexon and St. Paul of Eyjaux. Nice collection of reproduction of posters (1939-1945). The temporary exhibition ("as in"40"), too short, is devoted to problems of supply, black market and recovery (weaving hair of dogs or rabbits to make clothes). On the 1st floor, exhibition on the 1st World War illustrated by Renefer (artist name of Jean Constant Raymond FONTANET) (1879-1957), who was called up to the 1st Engineer regiment.

  • A very interesting couple of hours spent finding out what the French had to contend with during WW2 and some of the heroic characters from the local region.
  • Very moving Museum with objects and testimonies to remember this tragic page in our history.

  • Well displayed museum, and probably intetesting facts, but if you don't understand French very well, you get frustrated and confused.
  • Very popular and free Museum. It describes the action of the resistance in the region. Rich of teaching. A must see.

  • These parts (old posters, press articles, videos, etc... etc...) are very interesting. It has been renovated. It's free. In short do not pass side, for all these reasons and because these testimonies are to be seen.
