Set on a Latin-cross ground plan, Cathedrale St-Etienne is an excellent example of a Roman Catholic cathedral designed in the primitive neo-Gothic style. The church’s structure features a bell tower and a large center roof vault. Inside you will find two organs dating from 1930 and 1968 respectively, as well as the traditional Catholic icons and decorations of this region. This cathedral has been the seat of the Bishop of Saint-Etienne since 1970, giving it great regional significance.
