  • Worth a visit. However, we were there in the afternoon. Turns out that in the afternoon the museum closes. Standing for a closed door. In our culture, that is strange. Especially if you have air conditioning inside, like the museum has. Why close then? But we went back a few hours later to see the museum. Security at the door is strict! good! Fortunately, the museum also provides information in English. So we understand well. Well done! Used the toilet, needs a update. Old stuff. Took a while to see the whole collection. But 10 minutes before official closing time, the security/staff are walking around us. Not saying it's closing time, but directing us non-verbal to the exit door. We got the signs and hints. At last you enter te terrace above. Viewpoint on Les Eyzies! Fun! At the right side, there is a small tower/tunnel/bridge which you can pass to see the statue. But the door went closed and locked by security. 5-10 minutes before closing time. Therefore we missed this! :( Lame, since I could have seen it, if they not closed before the right time, or in the afternoon. But hèh...what can you do about it?!?...I think they really want to go home on time.
  • This museum has a very comprehensive exhibit of neanderthal, cro-magnon, and magdalenian tools and other artifacts. Coupled with two videos showing demonstrations of flint knapping and tool making you can easily spend two to three hours in this place. Everything is described in French but pseudo English translations are available.
  • Good and just enough info
  • Not very English friendly. Loads of info. Free under 25
