The historical theme park Le Puy du Fou is immensely popular for good reason--it brings periods of history to life through performances of epic proportions. By day, you can watch as gladiators fight for their lives, musketeers engage in swashbuckling sword fighting, and Vikings rise out of the lake on their ship to ransack a village right before your eyes. At night, the main show comes alive behind the ruined castle, depicting 700 years of history. The Cinéscénie dazzles you with its award-winning pyrotechnics and exquisite choreography. More than 1,000 actors, including children and live animals, perform this massive show on an outdoor stage that many boast is the largest in the world. Headphones provide English translations of this and many of the main attractions. Shows sometimes sell out weeks or even months ahead, so book your tickets to the park and the performances well in advance. Le Puy du Fou Reviews
J'ai omis, lors de mon avis sur ce parc magnifique, de signaler également un avis sur la pension canine de ce parc où les chiens sont interdits. Je tenais donc à signaler que cette pension canine est ... more »I've omitted in my opinion on this beautiful park, also report a review of the Kennel of this park where dogs are not allowed. So, I wanted to point out that this kennel is on top, super warm putting at ease now. I was afraid to leave my dog but I want to reassure, because everything is being implemented for the good of the animal. On our next visit, I will have no fear for my dog.

But anyway, the work is absolutely daunting. Big plus for the reconstitution of village, it's absolutely charming to walk in it!

This huge park of 55 hectares is to see in the summer just as winter with the magical Christmas. I advise to stay one night minimum for the chance to visit everything. The unusual accommodation available in this place should be a great experience. According to all types of clients can be visited: friends, families, seniors, solo, business... Magic, emotions, sensations and wonder are words that describe the Puy of the fool. For my part, my favorite shows are the sign of triumph, the Vikings, the musketeer of Richelieu and Verdun. Thanks to all the team of the Bishop of Puy, seasonal workers, volunteers to innovate constantly, and bring us happiness and of the Council. Bravo!
Wonderful place. The plus: really authentic. The nature. The way it is setup and the decor is really authentic. The shows are really well made and they too are incredibly well done. The stunts are real. The actors put themselves in tremendous positions to make the shows genuine. Surprisingly few visible safety systems make the shows look like they are totally real. The system is good because while one waits for 30m or sometimes 45m the show lasts 30m and one doesn't feel like one has waited 45m for a 5m ride like in Disneyland. The whole experience was tremendous. A whole day isn't enough. One needs two. But after a day we didn't feel like we had wasted it waiting. The cons: the overly political and religious propaganda in several of the shows (Vikings, Musketeers and Roman Arena). If you don't understand French then you won't be too concerned, other than bizarre appearance of bishops and cardinals. It is the only reason I'm not giving this a 5 star. It is just too much. Feels like some covert advertising for some other messages. Which is a pity. Some tips: we went with 2 kids 6 and 3 years old. For the three year old it wasn't that great. Too much too watch, not enough to do. I would recommend older kids. Food: the food is way better than Disneyland. But really slow to deliver. Two options, buy the sandwiches they sell during the shows, or bring your own. There are plenty of areas where you can eat your own food and it is totally OK to do. You'll be walking a lot on dusty paths, I would recommend closed comfortable shoes.
So much fun for the family. Shows are all in French but didn't matter. Its the crazy costumes, sets and action that count. English park map and great signage for getting around. We did the park in two days with an overnight stay. Highly recommend that so you can enjoy the evening show without children melting down. Emotion pass was worth the 10 Euros as we just showed up 15 minutes before the main shows and got seating in the reserved area. All the shows were very well executed. Food was fine but uninspired. Bring in some yourself if you can.
Excellent! Highly recommend this theme park. We travelled nearly 3 hours and stayed nearby in order to enjoy a whole day...I only wish we had stayed for 2! We watched The Vikings, The Romans in the Colosseum, King Arthur, The bird display and The 3 Musketeers horse show all of which were very impressive! It was a very hot day and the show's (except for the horse display) were all outside with no cover, so be prepared with sun cream and a hat (or umbrella if its raining!) Our group ranged from 4 to over 50 and there was something for everyone. The park is very large and you will do a lot of walking so wear suitable shoes. We left at around 6pm for a dip in our pool and a bite to eat before going back for the evening light and water show which was fantastic!! Great place and we will return.
Fantastic place. Get there early. Take a picnic and if possible download the showtimes in advance so you have your day planned before you arrive to make the most of your day. Puy De Fou is nothing like anything you'll have seen before. It's superb. Go and enjoy. Worth every penny of the entrance fee.
Very good landscape and authentic feeling. Very Good quality special effects. The volunteering spirit of the actors made me feel like this attraction is not only about money. The actors play is not sophisticated and the stories could have been more refined, special effect is not enough to make a good plot
