Walibi Rhône-Alpes is a French theme park located in the commune of Les Avenières, in the Isère department. It is the largest theme park of the Rhône-Alpes region. The park contains more than 33 rides and it covers an area of 35 hectares. The park had an income of 8,8 million euros in 2005, and it greets over 400,000 visitors yearly.Walibi Rhône-Alpes also contains a 13,000 m² waterpark called L'Île aux Pirates (previously Aqualibi). As of 2006, the park is owned and operated by Compagnie des Alpes, which also owns many theme parks and ski resorts across Europe.HistoryThe park opened in 1979 under the name Avenir Land. The Walibi group would acquire the park in 1989, renaming it Walibi Rhône-Alpes.In 1986, Walibi introduced water rides with the creation of a waterpark called Aqualibi. It would be given a makeover in 2006, becoming L'Île aux Pirates (French for Pirates' Island), and featuring a Caribbean theme.Sale to Six FlagsIn 1998, the park would change hands once again and it became part of the Six Flags chain, as part of the American company's international expansion.Sale to Star ParksHowever, six years later, in 2004, Six Flags sold most of its European parks to Star Parks. The exception was Warner Bros. Movie World Madrid, which was sold back to Time Warner and renamed Warner Bros. Park and later Parque Warner Madrid in 2006. The Walibi parks would be transferred to Compagnie des Alpes the following year, and they've belonged to the French company ever since.

  • We had a good day. Halloween-themed attractions were very nice. The actors who are we put a scary atmosphere while preserving the younger. Show hip hop at the end of the day it was fine.

  • Always the same old merry-go-round and the exorbitant price for the activity proposed. I understand this old amusement park, changing nothing.

  • This day was really nice with few people to do the attractions! Moreover, the animations and the decorations were cool. In short, a really good small park.

  • Very nice service. Cool and unexpected wooden roller coaster. Equalizer is must to try thing as well. If you come less then three hours before closing you will pay 30% less. In our case it was 23€ instead of 29€
  • Excellent pour les enfants
  • Family park great for younger children
  • Nice, pretty clean Park. Good attractions. However online is hardly useful, or even useless for restaurants. The online sale is supposed to make you a LOT of time through a dedicated Fund; in real life, and in practice there is no dedicated funds and despite the command line it takes +++ damage to this point, it takes 1 or 2 stars. Good visit!

  • Walibi, I'm not Baba. I don't set foot in this amusement park, because level home for people with disabilities a real ordeal. If not the map orange that is greater than 80% disabled, you cannot use the outputs as inputs with a child in a wheelchair. Obliged to make the tail with people valid (term used by one of the Manager), let the wheelchair down the stairs and at the end of the attraction recover the Chair in the opposite direction of the direction of the leader of the able-bodied. At the end of the second attraction, my child wanted to go home to avoid bothering the able-bodied and avoid their eyes in these cases there, it should be clarified Park not accessible for people with mobility reduced etc... I still say bravo to Walibi management!
