  • If there is a monument, a place to visit in the Andelys, it well the Collegiate Church (although the Church Saint-Sauveur has its charm). Built over several centuries, it offers different styles of architecture (Gothic, renaissance,...), which makes it both original and rich looking. Inside, meanwhile, is just as rich even if the monument is closed in part because of repair work. To start, it seems that the crib is particularly neat, nice size and decorated with natural elements (foam, wood...). The santons are not disproportionate each other. There are several sets to see: the base of an ancient wooden sculpture, an impressive stone sculpture representing Christ in his tomb, as well as a whole cut representing update the Tomb. The statues are either stone or marble. It should be noted also the magnificent organ which the furniture container is beautifully carved and decorated with hundreds of details that take the time to discover. Note also the tomb of the wife of the writer Pierre Corneille, as well as one of her children. As I have indicated, the monument is partly closed for repairs. The nave and the ambulatory are inaccessible, as well as one of the corridors. This is really too bad because the collegiate church is rich in many paintings.
