We were driving back to Bordeaux when we decided to look for a winery that might take us, and Chateau LHB said sure, they'd make time for us. What a beautiful, attractive, professional, high-tech oper...  more »

We visited this castle with a couple of friends and children we choose one above as on the site internet of Montesquieu it mention us that visit for 9 euros per people is adapted to children to explain the field of winemaking and make them taste of the jams, cake and different grape juice. Finally very disappointed: despite the kindness of the Lady, content is quite suitable for children that she hasn't even interested, no passage in the vineyards or engraving of grapes and vines to illustrate. For children the tasting is limited to qques pieces of 4/4 (good but not enough) a bit of Jam (2 kinds) and grape juice white lack (so not easy to compare the 2) orange instead! For adults the visit is made very quickly (the 1 h to 1 h 30 visit turned into 40 minutes including tasting) 2 2013 (not very good year) wine tasting short visit without too much interest, you pay the fame of the Castle and the billionaire family (we understand why for 9 euros per child people also the 3/4 hours) more then we have found a brochure or children are free (albeit without taste but who) not worth the price) in short we were then see "small producers" or children could access the vines, ride in tractors or still see pictures of several stages of evolutions of the vine and grapes. Brief escape well too "pompous"!

The tour was very educational about the terror and their wine making process (experimentation to advance Bordeaux wines). Wine was good. We found the whites exceptional and complex. The reds are good but for a California Cabernet Sauvignon lover still a bit light for me. I did buy some reds as well as whites as I am trying to expand my red wine love to other styles.
