Château du Taillan, Le Taillan-Medoc

4.1
Located on the banks of the Garonne, Château du Taillan has been in the winemaking business since the Middle Ages. In fact, the Knights Templar are believed to have made their own wine here. The current owner's family has presided over the business for more than 100 years. Their vineyard specializes in merlot, because the grape does so well in the region's clay-limestone soil. Take a tour of the winery, which covers the history of the castle, as well as its 16th-century cellars, and taste its acclaimed wine. • Two visits on this site the good first groupon in April and the second yesterday following an invitation. And I find nothing to complain about the staff and owners were very pleasant, when visits a treat each of the guides speak with passion. the Park is as splendid as the cellar. A September 2018 hurry and pick up my boxes reserved for the first time. Thanks again for your welcome.

  • Beautiful place, a beautiful property. The welcome was very friendly and warm. The visit rewarding, very well explained. In the end a delicious tasting. We have been conquered by that time spent at the castle of the Taillan

  • it was very nice trip , we spent a good time there, the chateau is gorgeous, we love their wine!!!
  • Rare underground cellar in Medoc
  • Very nice place. Loaded cellars of history. Beautiful view of the field from the property. I consume wine, but the tour by Cristina (Czech guide) was very interesting and very clear. Fans enjoyed the tasting. To recommend without hesitation.

Where to stay in Bordeaux

Most hotels in Bordeaux sit conveniently located a stone's throw away from the train station. Look to Quinconces Square and Gambetta Square for high-end hotels. Those who prefer more budget-friendly accommodations may want to seek out a youth hostel--a relatively recent addition to the city. To secure a spot here, make sure to book ahead of time. In addition to hotels and hostels, choose from guest rooms in a typical Bordeaux house, or a family-friendly beachside campsite.
