Château du Taillan, Le Taillan-Medoc
Categories: Castles, Tourist Spots
Located on the banks of the Garonne, Château du Taillan has been in the winemaking business since the Middle Ages. In fact, the Knights Templar are believed to have made their own wine here. The current owner's family has presided over the business for more than 100 years. Their vineyard specializes in merlot, because the grape does so well in the region's clay-limestone soil. Take a tour of the winery, which covers the history of the castle, as well as its 16th-century cellars, and taste its acclaimed wine. For two people, it is just in quantity and from a qualitative point of view it's really any. It would be although emphasis on regional products (the hope were not terrible).show original
