Create an itinerary including La Nuit des Chimeres
In an effort to attract tourists to Le Mans, the city organized La Nuit des Chimeres. This ingenious idea has been a success, attracting over 150,000 people every summer. The event is only visible after sundown--that’s when the ghosts of Le Mans' past come out to play. Images of the city’s ancient architecture are projected onto the edifices of current buildings, so you get an idea of how the city has changed over the centuries. Tour all the projections and see the story of the Plantagenet city unfold before you in striking imagery designed by award-winning graphic artists. This event also combines ghosts of the past with the music of bygone days at the Saint-Julien Cathedral. • This was so cool. I think many towns should do something like this. It made the journey of old town Lyon so enjoyable even on a rainy evening.
  • I was told by locals that the best time to visit would be in the month of August. It is a beautiful church located near the wall that was built by the Romans.
  • Very good. They use multiple projectors to project from different angles onto a 3D building giving a very nice 3D effect. Doing this on a large scale on the cathedral is a great idea. Was pretty busy though.
  • get to the area before 7pm, it seems like a just night attractive place but you should be there sooner to find your way around it
  • The cathedral show was spell binding!
