Chateau du Lude, Le Lude

(190+ reviews on the web)
Castle
Chateau du Lude defended Anjou from the attacking Normans, and later from the English during the Hundred Years' War. But it wasn’t until the end of the 14th century that this château got the makeover that turned it into a perfect example of Italian Renaissance architecture abroad. Surrounding the grandeur of the castle, find serenity in the form of landscaped gardens. Inside, tour immaculately preserved and renovated rooms that recall the aristocratic lifestyle of another era. Gilded walls and Raphael-inspired murals will enchant you as you stroll through the different salons and vestibules. • Choice on the Loire Valley... It becomes so difficult. The castle is well preserved, well furnished interiors. The place being occupied by its owner, are found in all parts photos and modern objects that annoy the imagination of a return to the past... too bad

  • Very nice Castle to visit. We visited the interiors with a guide (well watch schedules of tours because the Interior of the castle is only open in guided tour). Very nice and well maintained park.

  • Although on the Dormouse, this castle is a real treat. Everything is old, respectful of the places of origin, with original furniture, which is rare for a castle of that time, most often being too empty. The visit of kitchens is particularly interesting, being in the State where they have stopped working in the early 1950s... An excellent guide. Too bad that the owners appear ostensibly private visitable parts, pictures of family life which seems truly incongruous... Despite this drawback, a castle to visit. Don't forget to request your discount if you visit another place, as the Manor of Clairefontaine. Guests of the place forget this detail...

  • If you are pushed for time, stop for a drink on the Terrace which has a great view of the Château.
  • It is astounishing place. You need time to see it all. The garden is big and you should have some time to stroll in it. Inside you see some marvelous rooms with rich décor. You get a very good tour. The visit of Château de Lude was worth. The garden is so great that more than an hour waiting on the next leadership, as in flight has passed. So time to bring and enjoy the Park, which is situated directly on the river. Inside, some rooms are so impressive, that's difficult for visitors to believe that a such large building still in private hands is and can be entertained.

  • Very beautiful castle with a really nice tour and brings a real more. The visit lasts a little less than an hour. Gardens very nice sound and gives a very pleasant stroll, especially under the Sun.

  • The visit is a bit short, but jam rhubarb/apricots of kitchens was succulent
