Museum of Modern Art André Malraux, Le Havre

Art Museum
The impressionist painting collection at Museum of Modern Art André Malraux is the second most extensive in France, after that of the Orsay Museum in Paris. Facing the sea, this museum is a smooth, transparent assembly of glass and steel posed on a concrete pad. The large windows let in the highly variable light of the Normandy coast (carefully filtered to protect the art, of course)--a light that inspired many of the painters in the museum's collections. There are works by Claude Monet and other well-known artists, including Corot, Delacroix, Courbet, Degas, Manet, Renoir, Gauguin, Sisley, and Pissarro. The museum houses the largest collection of works by Eugène Boudin in the world. Modern art is also well represented here. • "" It is a museum open to the sea, on the "back and forth" incessant boats cruises and goods that already attracts by this environment close to the water. In addition this bright place particularly highlights works of art. You don't get tired to come back regularly for its permanent collections - many works of Boudin, Dufy etc and its beautiful exhibitions like De Staël. See and see again often.

  • Mix a Museum of fine arts with a modern art museum and add temporary exhibitions of contemporary art could make us think of a thicket everything. This is. That's a bit. There was more awesome to do Mr. conservative. Have the Monets, some Corots and the Courbet it still deserves! The place is magical, the light is beautiful. So make an effort to presentation for these beautiful paintings. It is possible to mix the contemporary and modern history, but takes a little talent and skills for it. Was the possible theme, the mixture of the confrontation, but there it hung as we have. BOF. It's a shame, I loved the place and the cafeteria.

  • I loved the Musée. It is very well laid out and it presents a current exhibition alongside a small but significative permanente collection, including Monet, Manet, Gauguin, Van Gogh and many, many more.
  • Impressive collections of the impressionist paintings. Boudin's works are especially distinguishing here.
  • Excellent collection of impressionist art with some earlier periods lightly represented. Modern art beyond the impressionist era does not seem to be in the collection.
  • Great collection
  • Very nice Museum. Clear and calm place. Possibility to take photos. Many of the Impressionists, beautiful collections. €10 4 (2 children, 2 adults).
