  • The Church was built after the war, in the 50-IES, on the site of the old ruined Church. It is remarkable that the project of the architect Auguste Perret, revolutionary at the time, received approval from the Vatican. Projecting Perret used his favorite material, concrete. The temple walls are decorated with nothing inside-only concrete, externally similar to wood. The most important decoration of the Church is the stained-glass Windows, going skyward, sparkling with bright colors. In addition, unusually located in the center of the altar of the temple under the high dome.

  • From a distant it reminded me of the Empire State Building and I said, I must check out that tower. Not knowing it was a church. There is an interesting wall of information about the history of church...  read more »
  • From the outside, the church looks like it could be some kind of communist monolith - all grey and concrete. But when you go inside, the colours just flood the whole interior. The stained glass windows in the tower let the light fall everywhere in such beautiful vibrancy. The layout of the church is unique and that adds to the beauty of it all. It's easy to spend a while just sitting and looking at it all. It's free to get in and is a highlight of a trip to Le Havre. Make sure you don't miss it!
  • You can not really call it, but it is definitely intriguing and unique. Here the UNESCO culminates Le Havre world heritage.

  • A church that is very different from what we are accustomed, and nothing to do with somebody that you've seen, neither in France nor elsewhere. It has a considerable size and is made of concrete or similar, with a very high tower which can be seen from much of the city. More than pretty it seems to me to be very curious and taking into account that there is much to see in Le Havre since it is worth passing.
