  • at 11:30 the owner told us to come back at 13:30, because the visits is completed at noon (normal 30minutes for a visit is not enough), we sum is arrived at 13: 30 p.m. we waited up to 14 h (in the heat of 36 °), it made him see our presence (she well noticed us), she saw us and then she disappeared in his Castle , we waited half an hour to finally leave without visiting the Castle at 14: 30 p.m. (after an hour wait)... it was GREAT!

  • Visiting in the region we are unhappy stopped at the Castle. We were 2 with our dog. one of us visited a friendly hesitant because "any walk in the courtyard of the castle's paid" to ask if we could visit the castle with our chien.2 young friendly seasonal told us "no problem" we buy 2 tickets! Ready to make the visit the owner arrives with his dog telling us to push us... She has claimed that the visit would have been better if it was all ours! "She wanted the dog no, understandable, so we ask the refund, she wanted no longer!" She needs money "we said it!" It is unpleasant that old! The 2 young knew plu or get and was ready a reimburse us, she forbade them and so we reluctantly made the visit which elsewhere d n worth it not (without weapons... weapon room)) stop you at the outside!

  • Pretty castle that has evolved over the centuries. A part of the Castle you can visit the other being private. Parts that can be visited are mostly furnished in period furniture. There are some very interesting comments in each piece. Renovations were conducted over the past 25 years, but much remains to do and feels that the current owners lack sufficient means to make this castle the unfinished Louvre of Périgord. Go see this beautiful castle which deserves your visit. Attention, small parking lot that could be much more if he was freed of the tree shot, charged and left on-site.

  • What an incredibly beautiful Castle and how romantic. There are only a few rooms - with four poster beds and 20 foot high ceilings. You feel that you are stepping back into the middle ages. You are treated by the owner as if you too were a member of the aristocracy or royalty. Truly an unforgettable experience. Not only that but there is a water park within short walking distance including archery. The countryside is incredible - whole villages that step right out of the middle ages. Those who have read or seen Michael Crichton's Timeline will be interested in seeing Castelnaud (Castelgard in the book) nearby. The wine in the region is also very good. Older and better than Bordeaux. A stay at Chateau de Lanquais is a must for those who want to experience the period.
  • Awesome castle with very interesting historical background! You should visit it if you travel the south West of France
