Built on a promontory created by the small valley of the Roumer River at the opening to the Loire Valley, you will find a dungeon, playgrounds for your children, a gazebo with picnic areas, and a tree house. • Liked this place, smaller but quaint in a quaint little town Very interactive with many signs and descriptions in english. Hospitable hosts and nice interior exterior.  more »
  • We stopped by on an impulse while driving through the town because we saw an imposing wall of what we later learned was part of a remaining wall of a 10th century castle keep. The wall is in the garde...  more »

  • The gardens are beautiful and well kept. I found the castle itself a lot less interesting than the Villandry. It was a good side trip from the Villandry however and the price was acceptable. The staff were very nice. If it were not for the staff and the garden I'd have only given three stars. They made the difference.
  • Surprising and easy to do in one day. Full of interesting history that is well-to-do both for adults and kids. One of the oldest fortified castle sites in France.
  • Great in every way, one of the best choices yet not at all crowded.
  • Excellent Château. Well kept with knowledgeable staff
  • Very impressive Castle. The ruins in the garden (and the tree house) and view over the Loire should not be missed out. You can also bring a bottle of wine and have a picnic in the garden.
