Grottes de Lacave, Lacave

(4.3/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
After riding the small train into the Grottes de Lacave, continue your tour of the caves through Tarasque Hall, where rock formations evoke legendary animals. After crossing the Room of the Three Fates and the Snow Room, you'll see the immense stone called Our Lady of Lacave. When you reach the Hall of the Great Dome, the lakes become more numerous and the formations become more curious: A column looks like the legs of spiders, for example. The Mirage room offers the breathtaking spectacle of a mysterious underwater city. The greatest treasure of all is the Wonderland room, lit by dramatic black lights that animate it to appear like a living being. Take a look at our Lacave vacation trip planner to schedule your visit to Grottes de Lacave and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • Famous Cave of stalactites and stalagmites. Access is by an electric train and then an elevator to visit galleries. One of the rooms is illuminated with UV light and the effect is spectacular. The droplets of the ends of the limestone formations glitter like stars in a night sky. The guide was very friendly and professional. We were surprised that they allow us to visit it being just two. A marvel. Highly recommended if you go the black Perigord towards Rocamadour.

  • The cave is really worth visiting, I keep a very good memory, access by train from outside that sinks into the rock, the lights added for greater visibility of the details are very well done, it is immersed quickly in this underground world... the attached photos speak for they same! Visit to do it without hesitation!
