Trip Planner: Europe / France / Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes / Savoie / Courchevel / La Tania / La Tania Ski Area
La Tania Ski Area was developed to host the Albertville Olympics in 1992. It continued to operate after the Olympics and became a quiet, village resort. The village has all the necessities: hotels, rental apartments, restaurants, grocery, and bank but that's about it, so it is a peaceful forest retreat. You’ll find three winding pistes that travel through the forest to the village below. The village is also the location of one of the best skiing schools in France, École du ski Français. The Tourist Office is scrambling to offer many activities in addition to the facilities available within the station (in summer, small field soccer/basketball, table tennis, petanque Court, outdoor heated swimming pool). In winter, most apartments are on skis (the cottage, please check with the owners). In only 2 lifts, you are at the crossroads between the areas of Courchevel and Méribel. A good skier will have by also hurt to push the ride to Val Thorens! A perfect location for a little gem hidden in the 3 valleys. In terms of nightlife, restaurant starred Chief Julien Machet (I have not tested because we have a toddler). A few restaurants within reasonable budget and qques pubs. Young people and disco fan, I say that La Tania is not the best destination. Family, your children, it's perfect because you will be calm when they go tobogganing or taking their ESF course (Piou Piou in the center of resort unless the snow is medium, which case the ESF amounts children to white goat). Other businesses: a sherpa, a tobacco/memories office, a bakery and several rental of skis. All traders are super charming and pleasant. In the summer, it seems to me to find a mountain bike rental (to check). Note that in summer, the lift in La Tania is free and it's the only one in the field. Finally services: a doctor, a nursery/daycare and a tourism office very active. We go to La Tania for a long time and have tested all of the services. The doctor: great and available (and more, to make radios for injuries to ski). The nursery: tip top, awesome, superb... words fail me! The girls who work there and the Director are really great, my son will be loved go in infancy and request sometimes to go back when he does not wish to ski. Children are supported up to 6 years. Attention, during February, best to book in advance. Finally the tourist office will always be there to answer all your questions. The only negative point I regret: missing a few machines and dryer laundry when we spent several weeks in resort in summer. In winter, it is much less necessary.

Direct link to the resorts of Courchevel and Meribel, ski back guaranteed even late in the season due to the orientation of the slopes (North). Free lifts the ideal summer for mountain biking and the departures of many hikes. A small box of quiet and nature preserved. Bling bling lovers and boxes of night go your way up to the nearby station.

She owned all useful shops (missing srlon me as a laundromat). It is located between courchevel and meribel and their many activities. The 3 valleys is excellent for skiing, and in the summer the vanoise national park is close. In short a great resort with residences dressed wood with a homogeneous architecture.
