Where to stay in La Rochelle

To discover La Rochelle's rich architectural heritage, book your rooms at a stylish hotel near the city's picturesque old harbor. From there, you can easily explore the city's oldest areas, while remaining within easy walking distance of modern tourist attractions, such as the aquarium and natural history museum. If you're travelling on a limited budget, consider staying farther away from the old harbor, where you can choose from a selection of small inns, private B&Bs, and good-value hostels.

  • Nice and animated place full of pubs and restaurants and directly linked to the narrow pedestrian streets in the old town. Beautiful lights in the evening.
  • The old port of La Rochelle is a beautiful place to sit down have a coffee/beer/wine/icecream and admire the picturesque city centre
  • Very pretty town to have a wander around after we visited the Aquarium
  • Very typical. A nice place to visit...
  • No matter what the weather, the old harbour will always make you feel like you're on holiday.
