Musees des Automates / Modeles Reduits showcases a range of automated models. The intricately designed models are meant to mimic even the most subtle human movements. • Come January, we could only visit the Museum of automata, one of models is always closed for work (while the reopening was announced on the site for more than a week...), short surprises to start! Very welcome to the person at the entrance of the Museum. We get a rate cut in compensation but it was either 1/2 price :/ With regard to the Museum, very nice discovery. It is big enough, we have spent a good hour taking our time. The whole is quite dated. Anyway feel free to you stop there wouldn't be that once, it's worth the trip!

Where to stay in La Rochelle

To discover La Rochelle's rich architectural heritage, book your rooms at a stylish hotel near the city's picturesque old harbor. From there, you can easily explore the city's oldest areas, while remaining within easy walking distance of modern tourist attractions, such as the aquarium and natural history museum. If you're travelling on a limited budget, consider staying farther away from the old harbor, where you can choose from a selection of small inns, private B&Bs, and good-value hostels.
