First, the Park is very beautiful, with its castle sits in the background. Visit well organized and paced. The guide has been very educational and living in his explanations. We learn that Montesquieu was both jurist, writer, but also end Manager of a wine-growing terroir. It is he who is the basis for the design of the separation of powers: innovative and provocative to the former regime. Only caveats: ban on any photo, and signs of arrival not top. Do not follow "site Montesquieu", which vanishes in the nature, but La Brède, then Castle.

Easy to access and near Bordeaux, it is a visit which is a must when you're in the area. The rates are more than correct, € 7 per person for the tour of the Castle and Park access. It takes about an hour and a half to discover this magnificent place, taking his time. Thanks to Pauline for this tour, we go back tonight filled with stories about this castle and the Montesquieu family. We didn't not visit last time so she gave us her passion. We note the efforts made to maintain this castle in perfect condition (restoration, maintenance, etc). I discourage young children ages, those who were present were bored.

How not to stop to visit the home of the great Montesquieu? In nature, great Castle, where the walls sweat history. Great place, full of fish, each visited piece moat is more than interesting. Which is a shame, it's great being welcomed at the kiosk entrance by the lady who sells tickets, and that once took place in the tour, the tone changes, the guide who gave us visits takes a little too visitors to "high", his language at the limit of respect sometimes, and it is not certain that all that is told is perfectly accurate... With a little luck, you'll get a different guide, and you will leave this place with lots of memories, and the desire to read Montesquieu.

Well worth visiting. Even tough the lady in the ticket office is very arrogant and unpolite, the guided tour is interesting and the château is beautiful and well preserved inside and out.
