  • The monument very well maintained in his time of Montesquieu. It is a pity that schedules are not "more" because a lot of potential visitors "break the nose" in front of the gates that are closed. Therefore, it is prudent to ensure that the opening before moving.

  • Very pretty Castle as well as the furnishings and decoration especially inside the library and the mini Chapel. A castle in the image of Montesquieu. Pretty garden also. I recommend this place to what are in the village but also in all the people from the corners.

  • Within the walls of this castle lived a long time Charles-Louis de of transfers, Baron La Brad and de Montesquieu (in our textbooks-just Charles Montesquieu), one of the founders of participatory democracy, the author of the doctrine of separation of powers (legislative, Executive and judicial), the first French educator and lexicographer, and generally, one of the founders of the State of the liberalism. In short, liberal and head. He wrote their works once departed from the post of the head of the municipality of Bordeaux, inherited it through inheritance (WOW democracy). Walked it, Whew, the Castle and its surroundings in the beginning of 18 century, pondering and wrote. About the rule of law, the obligation of the King to the citizens, about a stupid fashion and universal will ... ... Horror and morality! So, his first book "Persian letters" signed pseudonym, spoke from his first foreign Persian face and published in Holland. Apparently understood that not everyone in his homeland ready for innovation ... But the thing it maturely and 70 years later with the start of the French Revolution. We should pay tribute to the rebels not Castle was nationalized, while really thinking, but still remembered on whose ideas themselves have grown up and lived in Montesquieu's family until 2004, when it handed the Fund to Montesquieu, who now manages. In fact Charles really was a man not of his time. In order to understand this, sit on a tree stump with a view of the Castle, open the downloaded "Persian letters" and read: "Parliaments always odious to the Kings. They appeal to the sovereigns, only in order to give them the sad truth, while a crowd of courtiers constantly describes the Kings how happy the people under their administration ". 1721 g. prior to the convening of the first Parliament in Russia remained 184 years.
