Located in the municipality of La Barben, Chateau de la Barben is a castle that has been classified as a historical monument ever since 21st December 1984. Chateau de la Barben was originally the abbey of Saint Victor in Marseille, although no one really knows the exact era when it was constructed. Historians believe, however, that Chateau de la Barben was constructed before 1000 and owned by the Ponteves family. Chateau de la Barben Reviews
J'avoue, j'étais septique au départ. Certes le cadre est magnifique mais j'ai eu peur de rester sur ma faim à l’intérieur. Limit a little laughed when I saw our guide arrived with his white wig and his accent to cut with a knife. But just past the gates of the Castle I was transported. The guide has been exciting and excellent, I loved it and even found his accent brought a touch that he should not delete! He showed nice, smiling, joking with us as with children, a great guide! As for the visit, it was just as exciting! We will return to visit the lower rooms. And frankly if you're not cowards like me, go there for Halloween (book before) it must be fantastic in such a setting! Before leaving, don't forget to make the tour of the Castle by the trail. We found with the given to the small track set, and we loved it! In short, no blackheads! Home top, top, top parking visit! That say otherwise, go!

We arrived at a beautiful gone with a small medieval music, a very friendly environment. A woman greeted us and offered drinks that we enjoyed in the meantime the next visit (there are guided tours every hour). Then a guide dressed in period costume we have joined to start the tour. We really enjoyed, the guide was very friendly, funny with lots of anecdotes to tell us! We really recommend this magnificent Castle, furnished as at the time with authentic pieces and beautiful French gardens! We had a very good afternoon!
En nous rendant au Château de la Barben, nous avons voulu y amener notre petit fils de 4 ans 1/2. Over the course of the visit we realized that he had enjoyed just like us, even if we get everything on the part of the guide with a foreign accent very pronounced indeed very nice. The exteriors are superb.
A great place to visit, amazing tour guide, very beautiful garden. All was great and super impressive!
A wonderful castle great tour educational and entertaining
Beautiful castle with a gorgeous view of southern France.
The Bailey Castle is located after the zoo of the same name (it has its own car park) and has 2 vocations: it's a medieval castle open to the public, underground or domestic; and also Bed & Breakfast. The outdoor setting is beautiful and relaxing. The visit of the underground by a costumed guide is great, alive, he goes to the scope of his audience. That of the interiors has been disappointing, parts are sad, soulless and all look alike. Avoid the visit of interiors...
Visit to friendly Renaissance with a very nice guide. However, the parts are not all in value: they lack lights. The tour group is sometimes too big compared to the size of the rooms
