Col de la Bonette is a high mountain pass in the French Alps, near the border with Italy. It is approximately 2,715 m (8,907 ft) high. It is situated within the Mercantour National Park on the border of the departments of Alpes-Maritimes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. The road is the seventh highest paved road in the Alps.

You will see a signpost at the foot of the climb which reads "Col de la Bonette- 2802 m above sea level, highest road in Europe". This claim is incorrect for various reasons. It is, however, the highest asphalted road in France and is the highest through road in Europe. • Climb to the col de la bonette cycling is a unique experience, whether you do it through the asphalt (race bike, slopes not exaggerated) is that you do like us by mountain bike (uphill dirt road of remarkable intensity for the ugly and inclines). The most interesting is that from Barcellonette. The view is definitely nice

  • Amazing panoramic views. Road a little long of St. Etienne de Tinée, but worth a visit!

  • Bike, motorcycle car ... you are having fun, shame you can't take your eyes from the asphalt (in good condition but the overhangs sometimes squeamish and width does not always help to relax) Arrived on top ... parking stress!. It's worth it. On a nice day with four jumps from Ibex you reach the belvedere from where 360° panorama giddy. The highest (asphalt) in Europe and perhaps the first 3 as emotions (in my opinion).
