La Tour de l'Horloge, Issoire

(4.4/5 based on 35+ reviews on the web)
Gain a unique perspective of the city and the surrounding landscape at La Tour de l'Horloge, commissioned in the 15th century by Austremoine Bohier and his brother Antoine who were both merchants and consuls in Issoire. At the time, it served several functions: as a watchtower, a communal house, and a bell that kept time for the citizens of Issoire. The clock and tower are open to the public including the Lookout with views of the Puy de Sancy mountains and the Allier valley. • From June 14 to November 13. In thread, 13 pairs of animals designed by artist Alain Burban and photographer Art Earth workshops Martin Paskal, in partnership with the Cité des Sciences of Paris. Made from cans and other objects of recovery, "Duo of critters", this expo in expo, offers a look

  • the expo is very beautiful on several floors, we went as a family, the children really enjoyed, visiting the Tower: climb the stairs is a climb, the view are tmagnifique; the clock tower is a very nice building.

  • I advise all visitors to take the paid ticket so they will be really part of history and logic as the belfry itself. The ticket is not expensive at all and quickly pays for itself with the mapping of the stands at the top as well as the panoramic views it offers. After the thematic part as an exhibition is too out of step with the Tower in question, it's a shame. the paid ticket is not recommended for the person who have Vertigo. Unusual and fun to see. Issoire can be proud of its belfry.

  • Excellent historical place full of info and views...if uou walk up the 142 steps to the top!
  • I'm not mounted at the top of the Tower, but I visited inside and found it beautiful, very well laid out. It is a beautiful place, and the expo on animals was as exciting as fun - and free ;-)))

  • Always of very good expo which lasts long enough. The view from the top of the Tower gives a point of view at 360 of the city. 👍
