Isola 2000, an exotic ski resort in southern France, has seen several changes since it was built in the 1970s. Visit for the snow park, downhill skiing, and cross-country skiing. Thanks to the high altitude, few trees will mar your views. Its mismatched cluster of buildings is home to plenty of bars and restaurants, providing an engaging nightlife. • This day at 11: 00 in the morning, area closed closed Savior, Lombard St, TS marmots closed, closed, set track tree not tammed... no info about purchasing the packages... FULL PRICE! Or at the level of the gondola. Suddenly a single track down on station, at, worth tammed and full of people. In short, it is a scam and a lack of com that bordered on incompetence.

  • A smaller ski resort in the southern French Alps. Only 1hr20mins drive from Nice airport. The village at 2000m has significant parking space adjacent to the main lifts, ideal for day trippers from the coastal towns. The resort has only a limited number of runs, most of which are blue and red. There is plenty if space for beginners but offers little for experienced skiers. The small size is not good for a 1 week vacation. The village has an ugly, rabbit warren style commercial centre with accommodation built at the beginners slopes which is off-putting. The accommodation available is generally showing its age and poor quality. On the slopes there are still too many drag lifts. None of the chair lifts have any severe weather hoods. Being so far south this is normally ok but during an icy spell it is very unpleasant. The local staff in cafes, restaurants and shops are surprisingly friendly and generally willing to attempt English or speak slowly in French. Overall it is convenient for beginners and for one day visits. There are a great many better resorts for longer vacations.
  • Service is mostly good, though waiting at the service desk can take a long time as there's usually only one person. Place is clean as long as you don't go crawling under the bed or in corners where dust is clearly settling. Restaurant is good, the service is agreeable and the food is very nice. But it never opens on time and when there's a problem you find out when queuing, not great when with small children. Views are probably good though ours was not. So overall it was ok but I'd probably go elsewhere next time, also because of the general attitude of the other customers, most of which I could burn at the stake.
  • Nice ski station 1h 30m from Nice. Good pistes for all levels and very suitable for families. Open from December to April for ski and downhill, mountain biking & hillwalking in summer.
  • GPTS (Great Place To Ski) with one unique feature: après ski on the Boulevard des Anglais in Nice
  • Not as busy as the bigger ski resorts. Can do most of the runs in a day or so. Easy to get to using the Ski bus from central Nice or the airport.
