Chateau de Ranrouet, Herbignac

The imposing ruins of Chateau de Ranrouet still give you a sense of the stalwart fortress that it must have been, boasting six towers and thick battlements. The castle is nestled among the trees behind tiered walls that overlook to the town below. Although all that remains of it are the outer walls and a few towers, it still presents an opportunity to climb the old stones and imagine yourself a knight manning a stronghold against many French foe. • We are savvy both in the history of the middle ages, and we spent an enchanting afternoon to the castle of Ranrouet, August 13, 2017, games for children, walk around the castle with the camps, various and interesting, as, making clothes, handling of weapons, theatre in the middle ages, artisans of the time, potters, width, paint on wood, and wood, medieval educational games work, ferrets, animals breeding domesticated, widespread in the middle age, weapons, not to mention masters the beard-Torte company, first Duke of Brittany, fittings and fabrications of mesh sides. We also attend the attack of the Castle, lovely time, with companies of the medieval weapons, (men experienced in battle of the middle ages) very successfully. We stopped at length at the Fanche camp archer, who explained to us manufacturing and different forms of arrows and the two arcs of medieval french and English, and the equipment of an archer, history, as the battle Agincourt, Cormier, Duguesclin Knight, we were very interested and happy.

  • Great for the children who visit the castle with a witch and a history of treasure hunt. The site is really nice.

  • Magical place. Drop taken and let your inner child and your imagination do the rest.

  • Beautiful ruins in the quiet in a wooded setting. A small course of 1 hour with a little game of questions and answers pleasantly decorates the visit.

  • €4 for visit a castle in ruins... and again, crumbling is a weak Word: it remains half eroded walls. Wouldn't it not a bit of abu? I think that the height is €5 guided tour, lol, there's even more roof to your Castle
