The gardens are listed by the Committee of Parks and Gardens of the Ministry of Culture of France as one of the Notable Gardens of France. In popular cultureThe Château de Hautefort was used in the 1966 film 13 . • We benefited from seeing this in October - and no crowds. Even our photos are void of people. Interesting place - loved seeing the living quarters - huge fireplaces.
  • Historical heritage well maintained to discover during a visit in Périgord. Beautiful gardens mansion in perfect condition. Murals d part (preserved despite the fire that struck the Castle) are beautiful. Very interesting tour

  • The Chateaux is incredible. However at present major reconstruction is taking place and I truly feel it should rather be closed for the duration of the work. We paid EUR19.00 for 2 people and the construction materials and vehicles spoil every picture. Several parts of the Chateaux were also closed. Very disappointed
  • Incredible. The English gardens and the formal french gardens are truly beautiful. A magnificent treasure in the Dordogne.
  • Awesome place
  • Very nice Castle situated on the heights of the commune of Hautefort. Visit enjoyable despite the underground chaleur.les are refreshing to cross the Castle without going through the central courtyard. Bare and beautiful views of the surroundings. Very friendly staff and l listens. To do without hesitation.

  • The castle of Hautefort is a fine example of architecture with his time and his story in Périgord. The castle to the Mansion from the 17th/18th, it will surprise you by its unique location, its French and English gardens. The old town at its foot is full of charm. An essential visit when visiting in the Dordogne.
