We are relaxed and slightly experienced hikers and unfortunately have to cancel the rise. The first part goes through wonderful forests, the path is well signposted. Gradually increases the level where it is good to master. The last kilometre is however and according to the Guide, it is for beginners. In my view, this not true at all. The last climb is very steep and you must climb partly so that a supporter there might happen on its border. Once rain comes up should the ascent be terminated, as the descent is very slippery and the stones are to a stream. Tip: start early, so man up enough time for an extensive break and can gather strength for the descent. Have fun

Excursion not to be missed. After a first easy stretch in the Woods begins a real climbing on steep rocks. We spent about 2 hours and 20 peaking at Mouth Stazzona (step). The lake view with wild horses is lovely and well worth the exertion. The Council, however, do not underestimate the commitment. It is not a piece of cake. Obtain a minimum of equipment, at least a pair of proper shoes.

Departure from the forestry House of Poppaghia (the col de Vergio road). It begins quietly in the shade in a beautiful pine forest, very well marked (yellow line). At the end of an hour's walk, a small stone (bergerie?) cabin, serious things begin, the markup would have needed a good scrubbing, not always obvious. It may help hands (probably infeasible in wet weather). Then, after 2 hours of market a cross gives us hope that we are close to the goal. Indeed, of crete, the show finally won. Great view of the Lake and the pozzines. Horses, cows, sheep, everything is there, the nature you opens his arms, enjoy!... And then you need to come down and there, attention the knees. To do, really. For average walkers we are, count 5 hours with around the Lake without the lunch break.
