Chateau de Grignan, Grignan
(4.3/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Chateau de Grignan was once the dwelling place of the “prettiest girl in France,” according to the 17th-century author La Fontaine. The “prettiest girl” was Francoise-Marguerite de Sevigne, and she called the chateau her home after her marriage to the Count of Grignan. She wrote to a friend that “the triumphant terrace” was her favorite part of the vast castle. Much of the chateau is indeed triumphant, with just one wall spanning 52 m (107 ft) in length between two medieval towers. Visit Marguerite's terrace to survey the surrounding landscape, or tour the interior of the castle to get an idea of how the "prettiest girl in France" once lived. • I recommend we spent the time of a visit a wonderful time. Site very well maintained parts to visit are superb. The view is magnificent. I think that this visit is appropriate for any audience and the price is more than reasonable to know: adult € 5 children - 18 free we had chosen the free tour that we did not regret because during our visit one of the guides threw us a black look when I was telling my son that it was as big as the fireplace guides are rather stuck.
