Musée de Grenoble, Grenoble

(4.4/5 based on 400 reviews on the web)
The art of nature is complemented with the art of humans at the Musée de Grenoble, founded by Louis-Joseph Jay in 1798. Although, Jay had to fight to have his plans approved for the 18,270 sq m ( 196,657 sq ft) building, it was eventually completed and touts an uninterrupted tour from 12th to 21st century art. There are artifacts on multiple floors, but don’t forget to visit the museum’s impressive collection of 19th- and 20th-century African artifacts located downstairs.
