La Halle Sainte-Claire is the market of Grenoble. It is housed in a beautiful building in front is made of mirrored glass, very photogenic, especially when there is fair light. Inside is a triumph of grocery shops of all kinds, mostly of high quality. An Italian is always open-mouthed before the exposure super-small tomini cheese, from a thousand types and as many milks up to gigantic Alpine caci forms; Unable to compete with the French in this area. Not to miss the small little bar where the patrons themselves after shopping to grab a coffee before heading back home. You have to be careful to opening hours, because the building of the market has certain times and within those each workshop applies his. Last Sunday, despite it being August, many shops were not yet closed. Outside the building and all around there are stalls of fruits and vegetables (but not only).

Small market building scale is a bit more than Barcelona's Boquería. For those who want to watch the market. Tourist information Office is located in the immediate vicinity of the outside.

Only a small market, but you get all you can expect from a market and a little bit more. Especially inside there's for example a young man selling excellent regional cheese as well as special fair trade chocolate (try this!!!), a wonderful walnut cream...!

    Beautiful city market

Its small and do not have many shops. Unlike other French markets we went, it does not have lunch place. There are only a few seafood/meat shops for locals

    Great place.

Alive, animate the neighborhood well. Useful Sunday when a lot of other businesses are closed. A little narrow for our time. Well surrounded by cafes, restaurants and bakeries.
