Archaeological Museum, Grenoble
(4.8/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Centuries-old civilizations have left their mark at Archaeological Museum, which sits on the site of Saint-Laurent church. The building attracted the attention of archeologists after a 6th-century crypt was found there in the 19th century. However, the site was used for rites and rituals even before Christianity, making it one of France's most notable archeological finds. You'll see the remnants of pagan ceremonies on site, as well as later Christian artifacts. • I did discover this spring to my 9 year old grandson creeping not to ask questions and who wanted to go back to listen to stories on Halloween night. Magical atmosphere with all children - and adults! -dressed, a storyteller fascinating who kept us in suspense all the time of its delivery. What a great idea! Reservations for the installation of the public however: it really lacks the seats.

  • Especially not left Grenoble without having visit this wonder. This museum and free with an audio-guide free also. An attentive staff.

  • I found this museum on the site of the Tourist Office of Grenoble and curious, I did pop! I find it amazing that the Museum already is free of charge and with audio guide in several languages, including Italian. The structure that allows you to discover the various stages of the building is well organized and well cared for. The explanations are very clear and this place is really steeped in history. There are also toilets, clean them too. Perfect for a family outing.
