Centuries-old civilizations have left their mark at Archaeological Museum, which sits on the site of Saint-Laurent church. The building attracted the attention of archeologists after a 6th-century crypt was found there in the 19th century. However, the site was used for rites and rituals even before Christianity, making it one of France's most notable archeological finds. You'll see the remnants of pagan ceremonies on site, as well as later Christian artifacts. • It is in fact the Church St Laurent, the crypt dates from the high middle ages. She became a Museum! This is the fate that awaits many churches as they will be more inhabited by a living Christian community... As often, churches were built near the necropolis, the Christians who had the custom to meet secretly in the catacombs during the persecutions.
