  • This #domingodemuseos we travel a few kilometers beyond the Pyrenees. Exactly to Granville, 90 km from Rennes, 30 from the Mont Saint Michel. The Dior Museum is in the old family house sold; and fortunately recovered by French heritage, and today houses a small museum tribute to the master of Haute Couture and revolutionary Christian Dior. Normal admission is 8 euros with the possibility of rates reduced to minors, students... My visit my visit coincided with the temporary exhibition "Women in Dior" and in each of the three floors of the pink house I could discover main female costumes of the firm and its clients, from Marilyn Monroe to Jackie Kennedy or Rihanna. Dior revolutionized the fashion upholding a femininity that was believed lost after the 2 world war. Clothing line and A line, bolsoso signed by Wharol, first stitching on Yves Saint Laurent... Apart from the Museum, the family home has a beautiful garden and tea room of free access with views to the Sea (and a cemetery). Why visit it? Look here why matter fashion, why the dresses speak us mentality and society. Reach is as simple as follow signs to Mont Saint Michel and earlier, diverted to Granville. Once in the town of sea, go to the center of the town and look for the signal of the Museum House Garden of Dior.

  • Romantic place , the garden around the museum is wonderful. There is a free car park about 100 meters from the main entrance. The most amazing point to mention is that there is an easy & free access from the museum direct to the beach where you can swim. Unfortunately, the place lack of restaurants and cafés. In general this spot is not child-friendly .
  • A collection of beautiful evening gowns. Just as beautiful garden. Don't miss anything. Go ahead.

  • Also... and just for "real" men worth a visit! A great current exhibition on famous women who themselves have adorned clothes with DIOR is fascinating; an entire room is dedicated to particular wedding wardrobe by Soraya (1951).

  • A landmark of Granville. We admire the collections of Christian Dior since the creation of the couture House. Very nice garden where one can stroll.
