  • We visited the Fromagerie Gauray for a tour and tasting. The tour was a self paced video tour and it was very interesting. You could see the workers doing the jobs being described through large window...  more »
  • Cheese often comes second or third behind Wine and Mustard when people think of Dijon, but that would be a gross error. The local cheeses, led by the famous Epoisses, are outstanding and worth studying with just as much effort and the vineyards. My wife and I spent a hugely enjoyable hour and a half at Fromagerie Gaugry. The staff was incredibly friendly and organised a fascinating visit. After taking in the formal part of the Tower, where you get to look in the factory and see the workers going about the business of cheese making, supported by useful videos and posters to explain what you're seeing, we sat down with a cheeky glass of Pinot to taste a range of 5 local cheeses, ugly out by our superb host. Starting with the mild and creamy Brillat Savarin, and progressing through to very ripe Epoisses, each was a delight, and surprisingly different when you actually take the time and effort to taste them individually. Our fridge is now heaving with aromatic cheeses which was under obligation to buy no. goal which we did anyway. As a way to add variety to any trip to Burgundy, I recommend Fromagerie Gaugry thorougly.

  • Place of reference in the sector to buy good cheese and probably the best Epoisse.

  • Worth knowing and tasting. Fine cheeses and sweets options for travel. It's very near several wineries.
