  • After paying the 2 euro toll you will not be disappointed. The road climbs in a series of hairpins and short straits with great views all the way. We rode it in early September and only encountered a ...  more »
  • A start for a hike to the Inn of the mallet (which doesn't have to be the best start, probably more conducive to the heas Chapel). Climb up to the Virgin by small paths with numerous meetings of Groundhog and a green landscape surrounded by the imposing circus of troumousse but not oppressive. Followed the trail to the Lake (disappeared in this period) but many fat cows graze in the stream and use it to make a foot bath. We have dive fuck above the waterfall surrounded by cows with a splendid view at 360 ° on the bottom of the Valley. We continued up to the hut then went back down and had the joy of seeing shepherds get their flocks on a steep slope. We thus saw the agility of these mountain cows... impressive... Back to the car to complicated summer because we are not spent by the trail. Fortunately a few groundhogs have brought us morale. In conclusion, 15km from touring great, attention to your starting point and be well equipped

  • Very nice site in the mountains, it is to do when you're in the corner. Much less tourist has Gavarnie is really quiet. The view is magnificent. Anyway nice ride when the foot of the cabin is from toll, otherwise not athletic people to connect strongly drive through a toll of 6 euros.

  • After paying the € 5 toll, the rise in car reveals a beautiful landscape. The departure is well indicated for the Lake of areas... The path is easy, about 1 h 10 with children (6.5 and 9.5 years). Arrival on the unfortunately dry Lake is not very well marked and it is not too small what path to take. Go to the right of the Lake if you continue on the cabin areas. We cross a small plateau in the middle of the herds to continue on the path on the left for the new cabin areas. The mist is invited and made us miss the path that a priori had to leave on the left (no sign seen)... We were not the only ones to miss!. We have entered the hut by the way on the bottom that goes up a lot on the last meters (+ than 50 m of vertical drop announced... Can be 20 to +). We could not enjoy the scenery because of the mist. We have 45 minutes minutes for this part. The reverse path is through the same path. We have 1 hour down. We have turned on the Virgin arriving. ... That climbs especially in the end walk (15 minutes). .. but worth it for the view!

  • Beautiful landscape, wild and mountainous as the circus of Gavarnie. But access to relatively long... Populated by marmots!

  • Superb and especially away from the crowd of Gavarnie. Marmots and izards are visible.

  • Beautiful place to visit. A must see

  • Extraordinary. To do in addition to Gavarnie, the two are very different
