The road is a bit long for access to the dam of the gazebos and if you place it must arrive before 10: 00. The walk is very nice, relatively easy. It takes 3 hours AR up to the hut of Estaube. The flora is very rich and wildlife also. It is not uncommon to see marmots. Back, feel free to take a foot bath in the torrent that resembles those seen in Corsica, the heat and less... Finally, to end his walk, go to the bar where you will be very well received with a beautiful view of the circus.

We went there in the afternoon. Pay attention to the road, he must cling! Hiking is well marked, friendly, and accessible by all. We were up in the hut of Estaube. Count 3 h round trip, the back being faster. The +: we were lucky to have been able to observe the marmots!

Having "done" the amazing Cirque de Gavarnie, we thought we'd try the Lac de Gloriette on the Estaube road. OK, it was our fault going on a Saturday immediately after a national holiday. It would be l...  more »

Very nice hike from the dam of the Lake of the gazebos. Not to do a day hot because there is not a lot of shadows. The circus itself is pleasant but even less impressive than that of Gavarnie.

For us, it's the most magnificent 3 circuses. If you want to Park, plan to arrive early as parking is very fast full forcing to Park much more down and climb the Hill Road which increases quite ride time and exertion of the legs! The gazebo Lake is very nice. The dam is nice and large. With our 2 children (6.5 and 9.5 years), the climb up to the Estaube cabin is rather easily. Of real narrow hiking trails! Sometimes through herds of cows or sheep. There are plenty of small bodies of water... We see a lot of marmots even without binoculars (17 for us!). It runs along the torrent which is beautiful with waterfalls sometimes. We reach the plateau of the hut at the end of 1 h 45 (100 m vertical drop). There are a lot of herds, room for Spades fuck. We then continued on the path that led to the bottom of the circus (45 minutes for us, we stopped shortly before) goes up a little bit anyway (+ 130 m vertical drop) and which takes on a large valley up to the waterfall of the pla of ailhet that we have not seen because we are s stopped before (seemed a little dry by far) our had the chance to see shepherds a flock of sheep. On the other hand, we unfortunately ran into several dead cows and small calves sick... What struck children. The return took us 2 hours branching off on the bridge left for work around the Lake the other way... It goes up a bit for an end of ride! This allows to see the Lake from above. It goes directly through the back of the parking lot. Loved this hike for the beauty of the landscape, for the small footpaths, marmots, animals in pastures, and attendance not too high which allows to move quietly as a family.
