  • It is perhaps the best known route of the Pirineo.La Tour goes from Gavarnie to the Grand cascade. The Cirque de Gavarnie is a true wonder of nature. It is formed by a large Rocky wall with three vertical tiers and presents some 1,500 m of difference in height between the bottom of the Valley and the peaks of over 3,000 m of altitude that surround it (Marboré, peaks of the cascade, back of the Marbore, Torre de Marbore, the hull of the Marbore...), which between them are separated by small glaciers. In the middle of the circus we find the Grand cascade, which with its 423 m of fall, is considered to be the highest in Europe. This circus is located just at the point where match two important national parks: the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido (Spain) and the National Park of the Pyrenees (France). These two parks are the symbol of the great natural and scenic wealth found here and that UNESCO has classified as "Heritage of humanity".

  • Stunning place. You need a full day to appreciate it. Sunny days are best with views to take your breath away. Lots of shops close all selling tat and food at slightly higher prices but it is worth a few extra euros. Does get busy but that doesnt stop the wow factor
  • Impressive geological destination for all levels of hikers. From a distance you can see the highest waterfall at cirque de Gavarnie. You walk and walk about an hour and a half on an ascending path. When you reach the Hotel, it is not the end, so you can take a brake with a good coffee and more. If you have the powers... you will have to walk in a much difficult terrain (rocky path) about 1.5 km to reach the base of the waterfall. Be advised to have suitable shoes if you don't want to feel every stone or rock under your feet... Recommend!
  • I travel a lot, but this place really got me. Maybe the most impressive place I have seen in my life so far - simultaneously impressive and inspiring. You need around 2.5 hours from the village to the big waterfall. Good shoes are advisable - anyway, my girlfriend made it to the waterfall in her Nike Roshes and back without any injuries. The water running down the mountain is stunning blue.
  • Awesome place... Heaven on earth. Beautiful landscape and sceneries. Amazing experience
  • Breathtaking views and good place for a day hike. Appropriate walking shoes needed if you want to climb up to the waterfall - but it is definitely worth it.
