  • On vacation in the Luberon, after searching for sites to visit, we made this mine. Good reception, very nice guide, clear explanations. Great site. Parking for camping because just a suggestion: lack of bins on car parks. No respect, people throw down

  • Only guided tours which are usually done in French. Tours in other languages are available, but only if a guide for the target language is available on the day you want to take a tour. Reservations for all tours are recommended so ask for a foreign language guided tour at the time you make the reservation. If there is only a French tour available, the ticket office will give you a nice 4 page summary in your chosen language to read before the tour starts. I recommend getting to the site a half hour or more in order to read the guide and take photos. No photos allowed inside the mines for security reasons. Great tour for anyone over the age of 10. Younger kids might not enjoy it too much. Bring a jacket or sweatshirt. It's around 9C inside. Our tour guide was great. She did some fun and interesting question and answer sessions and had great stories to tell. Well worth seeing. The ochre galleries and history of the site are amazing.
  • Passionate and well-informed guide. Even for non-native speakers, the guides are comprehensive and eager to explain in English. Definitely worth a visit when interested in geology and the industrial past of the Provence area. Wheelchairs are available!
  • After seeing all these great reviews, we were a bit let down with the tour. Our tour was in French and we were the only non-French speaking guests, but the guide did not speak one word in English and did not involve us in any way. We lost a lot of information that we could only receive partly through the iPad (fortunately in Dutch). The tour took 40 minutes. The interior of the mine is interesting, but not spectacular. Frankly, I found the experience a bit boring and a bit too pricey.
  • Real interesting over mine. Guide is very kind explaining everything. Definitely suggested!!
  • Recommend visit. Fun guide. Ver cold inside, so take a jacket or they can borrow u one.
