Fort Boyard, Fouras
(4.1/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
A lone fortress in the waters of the Pertuis d'Antioche, Fort Boyard has walls as high as 66 ft (20 m). The oval-shaped fortress is 223 ft (68 m) long and 102 ft (31 m) wide. Construction on the fort began in 1801 under the rule of Napoleon Bonaparte, but was only completed in 1857. The fort was used as a military prison after the 1870s. A game show by the same name, filmed on the premises, added to the site's popularity. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Fort Boyard by using our Fouras trip generator.

  • The city views of Fouras is reasonable, but his story is more interesting. Boat rental-only access.

  • Great nothing to say! I advise you to do it when it's nice of course and to be covered because on the boat we feel cold, otherwise very enriching and gives us the chance to approach a monument full of history!
