(2.1/5 based on 35+ reviews on the web)
Dedicated to Newfoundland fishing culture, Musee des Terre-Neuvas et de la Peche is home to an exhibit of beautifully made scale models, authentic fishing boats, and traditional tools and instruments. All the items you see represent the great adventure of the sailing men of Fécamp, who set forth to fish for cod in the icy seas of Newfoundland. The museum also portrays the shipbuilding techniques inherited from the Vikings as well as herring fishing and the art of smoking fish over the "boucanes". Before you leave this site, be sure to stop and admire an impressive collection of marine paintings. • Museum requesting that has become more important in anticipation of the new Museum which little will be a day (more than 2 years late) yet I had visited a few years ago and it had been very interesting

  • Unfortunately too quickly closed to prepare for the move to the new Museum! However, it was good! Currently one-off exhibitions are presented.
