Lookout Landmark
Discover the majestic chalk cliffs of Falaise d'Etretat, which inspired artists like Eugène Boudin, Gustave Courbet, and Claude Monet. These world-renowned cliffs are home to many species of plant and animal life, including seabirds such as herring gulls, arctic fulmars, and peregrine falcons. At low tide, you can walk out onto the beach and see oyster beds dating back to the 17th century. Look for a hole in a cliff known as "trou à l'homme." Sea cabbage and red grass are protected species that grow along the coast. Many caves line the coast, with several that are accessible only by boat during calm weather. • The site of the cliffs of Etretat is superb! Feel free to y passer1 day (or 2, but not more). Small town quaint, and lovely walks. Attention a lot of paid parking. But if you are brave there is free parking at 1.5 km from the center of Etretat.

  • A wonder of nature to discover absolutely! There are many people in season but car parks are arranged by the municipality out of town. Typical Pebble Beach. Superb cliffs to discover whatever the weather. The light is changing depending on the time. Magic

  • Incredibly beautiful natural cliffs with arches over turquoise water. One of our favorite stops in Normandy. Easy to access from car. Short hike to top for even better views. Wish we had more time to explore the cute town at it's base.
  • So naturally beautiful, awesomely grand and well preserved. The pictures don't do it justice. Make sure you plan your trip here. Give yourself time to walk down the waterbed before the tide comes in around sunset. There's ample parking and the town is lovely. We enjoyed that it was not touristy. You can see remnants of the war like bunkers on the walls and in the caves.
  • The view is breathtaking and we went in the afternoon, but I guess the morning view would have been even better. Try to climb both sides, as the view differ and if on one side there are two large cliffs, with lots of greenery, on the other side, there is Cathedral and the small cliff, with an awesome view. Difficult to choose which is the best view. The Cathedral was closed, but the view is worth the visit.
  • the view is breathtaking. it is not too difficult for a hike, on the right hand side cliff you can take a small train but the best view is from the left hand side one so def worth the hike. we also took a 2 hour boat ride on the sea to see the cliffs and we absolutely recomand doing so if you have the time
  • Such a nice spot. You can spend a very nice and romantic weekend in Etretat. Cliffs offer fantastic views.
