Since 1871, this company has produced exceptional champagne including their signature Vendange vintage, and they produced Dom Pérignon until 1930, before selling the brand.

Other signature champagnes include their Brut Mercier made from the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes and their Demi-Sec made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. This winery is owned under the label Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH), and their tour allows you to see the historical cellars, buildings, and grounds.

Tours are available by appointment only and are delivered via an audio guide in English, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Portuguese, and Russian. The tour closes with your choice of one, two, or three champagne tastings of one flute of Mercier Brut; or Mercier Brut and Brut Rosé; or Mercier Brut, Brut Rosé, and Brut Millésimé. • This is a fun tour; a little movie about the founder, an elevator with a screen and a train through the cellars with your own audio player. Good information given and a nice tasting of three...  more »

  • The entertainment here is so good and the story so amazing which makes this place so worth to visit. The marketing works at least for my taste. I enjoyed every minute of the show. We started here or visit of Epernay. We received the great reception and kindest introduction possible. This made us appreciate the whole champagne business. Thanks a lot for keeping great Mercier invention into the future. I definitely recommend visiting and taking a tour.
  • The tasting staff were helpful and informative but the audio device guided tour by train was no where near as good as the personal guided tours available in other caves. Go for the tasting and to buy the champagne but don't go solely for the tour.
  • Great place to learn about the history of Mercier and of champagne. Very informative and the English guide was impressive. Entertaining multimedia presentation plus you get to taste the champagne as well. Bring a sweater or light jacket as the underground tour of the cellars can be a bit chilly. If you plan your visit well, there are many lovely cafes in Épernay to have lunch or dinner as well. Sante!
  • The tour is not as good as I remember from my first visit some 15 years ago and shop now sells only their champagne. It used to sell a wide range of branded goods like ties, umbrellas, &c. Only the basic Champagne is included in the tasting.
  • The tour with the train is wonderful. That followed by a glass of mercier champagne was excellent. Loved the story of the making of the huge champagne vat en how mercier wanted to bring champagne to the public. Very friendly and helpful staff.
