  • We did not visit the museum. The cathedral is nice looking from outside but more impressive inside. It used to be one of the biggest in its time.  more »
  • Beautiful Cathedral and its two torres(una está actualmente en restauración), but you wonder what the cloister. Capitals and columns with geometric patterns, animal motifs and historical, of marble and well preserved scene. On the walls there are some burial of illustrious. A small garden that is not accessible. At the entrance you are an explanatory brochure, in French, catalan, Castilian, that makes you the most instructive visit. Interesting mural news with all the changes in the history of Elna, from the Iberians, from the times of the Catalan counts, up to the current period in which belongs to the French State.

  • . A magnificent structure rising up on the plain of Roussillon. This is a solid structure, monolithic in appearance. The town of Elne - named after Helena, the mother of the Emperor Constantine - has at its centre the "Ville Haute " - the High Town. This is built on a huge rocky outcrop that is today invisible under the winding streets and houses bulit up over the centuries. Crowning this is the Cathedral and its Cloisters, with around them an open space from where you can peer down (take care!) into the busy streets below. .
  • A masterpiece of Roman architecture set in a small village near Perpignan. Beautiful cloister. It was the seat of the former Bishopric of Elne, which was transferred to the Bishopric and cathedral of Perpignan in 1601.
  • The cloister is very cool and sells preserved. In addition, you can make a joint visit to a bit more-maternity Cathedral. Next to the Cathedral, in the place of Colonel Roger if you can eat very well.

  • Discover arriving on Elne, we can see 2 red/dew square towers, more closely we see that it's a cathedral. Built on the heights of this city, although during the restoration, "worth the trip". A small road that we go up to feet; this allows us a few typical passages, old Catalan houses. At the rear of this building, the wall of the cloister, backed in this Cathedral shows us its imposing volume. Facing the wall, a small place offers us a magnificent view on the whole region. Bypassing this wall, we arrive at the front door. Damage; hindsight is not quite important (as with most of the cathedrals in the city center) in order to have a global view. The dark Interior does not reflect external beauty. The cloister, is also "well crafted", do not forget your visit. Essential and more interesting that the visit of the Cathedral built blue veined white marble, famous for its Romanesque and Gothic sculptures. ,(les plus anciens se situent dans la galerie méridionale), the patterns carved capitals representing biblical characters, animals and plants, are beautiful a superb place, you will easily find all the answers to your questions or queries. The crossing of different rooms is interesting, the central garden is nice and changes us pleasantly of the Sun garden
