Notre Dame, Dijon
(4.6/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
Spot gargoyles perched on the façade of Notre Dame de Dijon, an early 13th century Gothic cathedral featuring slender columns, original stained glass, and the famous 14th century Jacquemart Clock. Go inside to view the most sacred item, the Black Virgin, also known as Our Lady of Good Hope. As you leave, go to the right side of the cathedral, look six feet above the ground, then rub the head of the famous Dijon Owl with your left hand for good luck. • The Church is not about this gargouillesque façade but that's what makes it unique and unforgettable. It's a beautiful church of the 13th century the porch that overlooks the nave is decorated with this original façade to 3 floors. The Church also contains a jacquemart with its bell ringers and of splendid stained-glass windows which most date from the 19th century however. A must see.

  • Beautiful church that still bears the stigmata of the madness of the men on its Portal, and do not forget to caress the OWL in the street right outside.

  • A dark interior and outside decorated with gargoyles , some now fallen , or replaced but all different and intricate.
