  • During our exploration of the coast between Equy and Fréhel we stopped to look at the imposing ruins of the castle that dominates the estuary of the Arguenon. Worth the visit. The view on the Arguenon is beautiful. The time to do so, he must be strong beautiful to walk on the trail that runs along the foot of the Castle and ventured out on the banks of the Arguenon. A very beautiful site. We went on foot from the bottom of Crehen, but there is a parking nearby, free. The ruins are being restored. We visit alone, in peace.

  • Castle in restoration in the middle of a natural environment of great beauty. The visit is free.

  • Beautiful ruins, free access. We like to climb here and there, to explore the small nooks and the diverse views. We also like the panorama of the river Arguenon and the Bay. Free access. Property of the 22 Department which restores. Previously such buildings was invaded by the Ivies and weeds. It is at the initiative of an individual (Mr. Ladouce) that now this place again for the pleasure of all. In the middle of the 15th century, Gilles of Brittany was in this castle. The word GUILDO comes from the gallo (local dialect) GUIDOU. We find the root of GILLES. And run the guildou means tell its beautiful fleurette, flirting too often.

  • This fort is currently being worked on (we visited summer 2017) and I forget the target completion date. Despite it being a partial building site, it is still fully accessible by the public which is something you just wouldn't get in Britain where health and safety is a sad part of life. Great views overlooking the Le Guildo inlet are to be had from the NW turret area. A car park is very close by with a short path leading to the site.
  • Not much to see, just ruins but very quiet ans a bit mystical, back to 15th century
  • Chateau du Guildo is free and a short walk from a free car park, although it's not well preserved it's worth a visit if you're passing for the amazing views alone across to Le Guildo
  • Despite the ruins, you can feel the atmosphere of the Castle. Beautiful view of the Bay + presence of seals!

  • Nice site, with a great view, but the ruins are in very bad condition.
