Chateau de Couches, Couches
(3.8/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
Admire the diverse architecture and great views over Mont Rome at Chateau de Couches, a castle that once served as the residence of Margaret of Burgundy. Opt for a full tour and view the dungeon and underground galleries from the 12th century, the tower and chapel from the 15th century, and the troubadour-style residence from the 15th century. Relax in the small but lush topiary garden, where you can gaze at the house, or view the artifacts in the chapel, including furniture, tapestries, and stained-glass windows. Some tours are offered in English but can still be difficult to understand, so consider reading up on the attraction beforehand. By using our Couches vacation planner, you can arrange your visit to Chateau de Couches and other attractions in Couches.

  • Excellent atmosphere during the tour where the young and old have learned many things.

  • our children have been able to create a "pumpkin" for Halloween lantern, in an atmosphere "scares" just what it takes, and all featuring parts of the castles very adapted to the context: underpasses, dark rooms, the low ditch... the top for shiver! Besides the discreet music makes snapping teeth, all over the field... and the facilitators, benevolent witch in the service of children to feast on this morning. Later, the tour allowed us to discover other parts of the Castle, as well as its history, here still put within reach of the children for the occasion. Thanks to this young guide full of attention for us, this animation was a great time!

  • We had a young man to show us around this castle, he knows well the history of the Castle (known as Margaret of Burgundy) that we visit, he made us relive the old stones with the story in history, in short a nice visit.

  • Child friendly visit... Very informative!
  • A beautiful castle with a nice Park. It is just a pity that the visit is so "flat", she brings indeed little information, or even false information. A "general public" Castle for a quick visit, but there are more interesting in the region.
