  • Great overview of Corsican culture presented in modern and informative way. A must for everyone who visits Corsica and wishes to get some perspective on this amazing country.  more »
  • A very good collection of artefacts - almost too big, as it took a long time to get around the museum. Good place to cool off on a hot day.  more »
  • We got to the museum late in the day and should have had an hour to visit, but after 30 minutes the staff began ushering people out - I guess they didn't want to START closing down at the stated closi...  more »

  • Citadel is nice to see and not too expensive. The museum is only in French and Corsican language, nothing in English.
  • First go to the citadel to experience the best view over the town and surroundings. Museum is low key, nice and easy, in a way that it gives a good and quick insight into Corsican history and its inhabitants. Nice to visit with kids. Not expensive.
  • I can't recommend for any non-french speaking visitor. Nothing is translated. The museum is small but really modern. Our visit took 1h. Price is about 5 Euro (reduced 3 Euro).
  • Citadel of the 13th century in perfect condition, interesting tour where we become aware of what a Museum is exciting the represent the immense work of construction, the hardness of the lives of soldiers and prisoners

  • True to its heritage, Corte maintains a Museum of traditional Corsica. The Museum contains thousands of items that tell the pastoral life on the island, such as a cane carved from Shepherd of the Cap Corse or a zouka, a flask in a dried gourd. I love this beautiful village. It is superb! The geographical center of Corsica, and mid way between Bastia and Ajaccio, Corte is conquered by the Genoese in the 13 th century. The Citadel will remain the only fortified work built inland. Pascal Paoli will install the first independent Government of the Corse in Corte.
