Plage de Saleccia, Corsica
(4.3/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Off the beaten path, Plage de Saleccia is worth the arduous trip to the long pearly white sandy beach that stretches a little over 1 km (0.6 mi). Juniper dunes to the east separate the beach from the pine forest and the western Padulella Marsh, while the mouth of the small coastal Liscu River lies to the west.

Although accessing this beach is difficult, it's worth it because it is never crowded. The 10 km (6.2 mi) dirt road is accessible from the village of Casta on the D81. It is best driven using a motorcycle, dirt bike, or a 4 x 4 vehicle, or you can consider renting a horse. If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a boat to visit the beach via the sea in St-Florent, walk the footpath, or take the shuttle that stops at Lodu. • The beach of Saleccia is part of the triptych of beaches of the desert des Agriates: Saleccia, Malfalco, and Ghignu. Of these three is the only one that you can reach with a normal car, but still high. Strongly not recommended for sedans, station wagons and city car. From a panda 4 x 4 up, you do not have problems. The dirt road to reach it is badly damaged, although they made maintenance once a year. Trust in any case of residents, they know the real conditions, better still if hunters. 12 kilometers and you find yourself on a beach a few kilometres away, Yes, but people disperse. Wonderful water. Just behind, you will find the campsite U Paradisu, offering bar service. You can use, like Malfalco and Ghignu 4 x 4 Shuttle service.

  • Stop at the beach earlier, that of Lotu, being careful to take the first ferry available, so you can see her still a Virgin without any camp or umbrella. It is very nice. We made the mistake at mid day to walk over to Saleccia; Maybe the funniest thing was the way. One part is uphill along a dirt sentierp. In some places very dusty, than along the road of quad bikes and cars. Long, particularly in the heat of August, although we have come with two children, the youngest of 6 years. The beach was a disappointment, at least afternoon view; very dirty, covered in dried seaweed, residues onward by vegetation, but the impression was not "wild" but just dirty. Turbid water, not inviting, but at least in the morning, it was nice limnpida Lotu, and full of fish. In my opinion not worth the walk.

  • Beach which served as the setting for the film "The longest day". Sand end and turquoise waters. Access by sea or by the track. The summer congestion.

  • Superb beach, renting a boat is the best way to enjoy it.
  • Plage paradisiaque Incontournable!
  • Such a disappointment. We paid dearly to get into this phantom "free" beach, reachable only by boat or 4 x 4 jeep through a path that is not easy. Once there, the disappointment. "Free" will, but by the rules. In practice this happens: the beach is a public beach, hard to come by. Those coming from the Mainland can only get through an organized transportation (at great expense). Who has a boat comes by sea. And here's the catch: the beach is actually a parking lot for boats and yachts, arriving right on the shore already crowded with people. There is no one who controls that is respected the ban operate the engine in a region crowded with bathers, so it's easy to see children playing in the water while the boats come and go while the engine is running just a few metres from the shore. Besides all this, add the mess, and the fact that the sea is fairly clean, but lacking in any form of life or other item of interest. There is a zone, prohibited to boats, which takes up about a quarter of the length of the beach. In short, in such a place you go if you desert, not if it is full of jerks and I don't know what is common sense. Avoid it, or go there in low season. Maybe, without all the craziness that I found, will regain its charm.

  • Wonderful! A walk of about 45 min from plage du Lodo (which can easily be reached in 30 min boat ride from Saint Florent). White sand beach, about 1 km, Caribbean Sea. In high season, maybe too many boats that are very close to the beach.

  • A beautiful beach, hard tackle... The best is the morning early where you have the beach to yourself alone 😊
