This is an old half timbered house in the old part of the city. The person said that somehow this part of the city was spared in WW2 which is great. It’s nice to see.

This large house is located in the heart of the historic center of the city, at the corner of rue des Marchands and the street that bears his name. This construction, which is in the style of the Alsatian houses of the time, is famous for having been the home of the famous artist born in Colmar, Martin Schongauer. He was the most important German engraver, until the arrival of Dürer. He was a source of inspiration for many artists who followed in his footsteps. Beautiful house.
