Criss-crossed by the canals of the River Lauch, Little Venice formerly served as the butcher's, tanner's, and fisherman's quarter. Originally a rural wine-producing community, commercial gardeners and fishermen inhabited the canal area, which is now the city center of the small town. You can charter a romantic boat to float around the canals and gain a picturesque perspective of the half-timbered houses. • Very nice spot in Colmar. Bit too overcrowded by tourists.
  • Its like Colmar at Bukit Tinggi Malaysia but its much bigger & better
  • Excellent food. Had lunch here, was so good we went back for dinner.
  • Beautiful but too touristy
  • Beautiful part of the old town of Colmar. La Petite Venise got it's name from the small channels running in between the houses. There are even some little boats for tourists (as in Venice Italy) but the channels are very small and not long. Boat ride is very short, not recommended. The architecture and certainly the colorful houses in this romantic town is great for a stroll. There are some nice looking restaurants next to the channels but to my personal disappoinment they all had pretty much the same menu.
